At the start of 2022, I wanted to make it a goal to keep a daily sketchbook. It didn’t quite turn out to be as regular, but every once in a while I was able to take the time to visually summarize my day’s experiences.

This Valentine’s Day spread was inspired by the cutest little Monadenium ritchiei hybrid that Max got me! I also added in some of my other plants that were taking refuge on my office desk for a few months as I dealt with a spider mite infestation in my living room.

I like to use my sketchbooks to explore composition and materials. I don’t know if this achieved all my goals - that little box in the top right doesn’t do it for me and the pencil got really smudgy - but it was a great learning experiences!
