This was a sketchbook spread made during one of Morgan Grice’s Odd Orange Stationery online draw club sessions. The prompt she chose was people in landscapes and we had 10-15 minutes for each one.

Since the reference photos were from old National Geographic magazines and had that vintage green-tone, I tried to capture that same palette.

It was a challenging to do in the time limit and I went back to each one afterwards to touch it up and add more details, but in all it was a very satisfying experience. I’ve been wanting to paint more landscapes ever since!
