I’ve never been to Gaspésie, but I’ve always wanted to. I love the blend of Québec/Maritime landscapes and the abundance of nature.

I found a couple reference photos that I thought captured the contrasting spirit of the area - rocky ocean to lush countryside - and decided to play with composition by having one confined image and one sprawling image.

I knew I also wanted to add a different medium as a detail drawing. Since I could only include abstract lines on the Northern Gannets in the landscape version, I figured it would be a good opportunity to do a close-up study.
